What We Do
Projects
Golfini Rossi ETS collaborates with the African Benedictines of Mvimwa Abbey in Tanzania, supporting them in the process of developing the surrounding rural area in the fields of health care, hygiene, nutrition, education, and economic development, together with volunteers and scientific partners. Around the Mvimwa Monastery there are about 30,000 people living in 10 rural villages, where almost everyone lives below the poverty line, on less than one dollar a day. The villages have no clean water or electricity, and hygienic conditions are extremely critical. The Rukwa region, where the Mvimwa Monastery is located, sadly holds the highest prevalence of children suffering from chronic malnutrition (56% of children under five show stunted growth). Disability is still a taboo, and public health care is almost inaccessible due to the shortage of facilities and professionals, as well as costs that are too high.
For years, Golfini Rossi ETS has managed a large network of young students and specialists in collaboration with partner universities who contribute to development projects in Tanzania.
During missions to Mvimwa, thesis work and scientific research have been conducted, useful for promoting and implementing social initiatives by providing essential quantitative and qualitative data, which the authors have authorized for publication.
