History

Golfini Rossi was founded in 2015 as a Onlus, now an ETS (Third Sector Entity), to support rural communities in Tanzania through projects in health, education, nutrition, and development. The name recalls the red uniforms of Tanzanian primary school children.

It all began in 2014, when a group of friends – Tiziana Bernardi, Daniele Rizzi, Pietro Angeretti, Bianca Rizzi, and Giulia Rizzi – left Cornaredo, on the outskirts of Milan, for a volunteer experience at the Benedictine Monastery of Mvimwa. Fascinated by the strength and humanity of that place, they decided to create a concrete commitment.

This is how the association was born, which today works side by side with the Monastery, thanks also to the collaboration of Italian and African universities, research institutions, and volunteers. The project has received patronage from the Italian Embassy in Dar es Salaam and the Municipality of Parabiago, and continues to grow as an engine of transformation for the entire region.
